Position: Registered Respiratory Therapist


Location: Lewiston, ID

Schedule: Days 7a-7p or Nights 7p-7a available


*Duration: Permanent


Pay: Annual salary ranging from $58k to $76k depending on level of experience

In this role you will work independently performing all duties of Respiratory Therapist to ensure that patients are receiving top of the line respiratory care as ordered by the physician!


Responsibilities:

  • Providing respiratory care to patients of all age groups, ranging from infants to adults, as ordered
  • Explaining purpose and process of treatments, tests, and equipment to patients
  • Checking patient chart and physician's orders
  • Setting up equipment and medications
  • Administering treatments - oxygen administration, humidity therapy, airway management, resuscitation, mechanical ventilation, postural drainage procedures; closed atmosphere and respiratory monitoring, intermittent positive pressure breathing, aerosol therapy, and pharmacology respiratory therapy
  • Charting treatment, response, and progress
  • Monitoring environmental control systems
  • Monitoring patients on continuous ventilation - do nasotracheal and tracheal (endotracheal tube or tracheostomy) suctioning.
  • Making patient rounds regularly - observe patient, check equipment, make changes and adjustment as needed
  • Recognizing and reporting medical problems to physicians
  • Regularly assist with QA monitors for the Cardiopulmonary Department
  • Maintaining stock levels of supplies
  • Providing shift reports
  • Processing equipment - clean, sterilize and package as required
  • Providing care on the Rapid Response Team

Qualifications:

  • Must be permanently licensed by the Idaho State Board of Medicine as a Respiratory Care Practitioner
  • Current Basic Life Support (BLS)
  • Registered by the National Board for Respiratory Care (NBRC). If Registry eligible must obtain Registry within 1 year of hire date
  • Ability to manage themselves as staff are not closely supervised. The Department Director, Day Supervisor, Evening Supervisor or Clinical Coordinator are the line of responsibility
